YouTube Streams 1.2 Billion Videos Per Day
By Anna Johnson on June 15th, 2009A source inside Google has informed TechCrunch that YouTube.com delivers 1.2 billion video streams per day worldwide. This is substantially more than estimates from comScore and Nielsen.
While it’s difficult to compare worldwide numbers with those from the U.S., it looks as though comScore’s estimate of YouTube delivering 7 billion video streams per month in the U.S. and Nielsen’s estimate of 5.5 billion video streams per month in the U.S. are way too low.
As pointed out by TechCrunch, it may also be that comScore and Nielsen have substantially underestimated video streams from other sites too, and on the Internet in general.
