WordPress is currently beta testing a feature to allow people to comment on WordPress.com hosted blogs via email.

That’s right, instead of going to a website in order to make a comment, you’ll be able to respond to a comment-notification emails instead.

ReadWriteWeb reports that WordPress may also introduce threaded commenting as part of the offering.
