WordPress is No.1 For Affiliate Marketers

The enormous popularity of WordPress related Internet marketing tools, plugins and information products suggests that most affiliate marketers use WordPress to create and maintain their sites.
Indeed, data from AffStat shows that 32 percent of affiliate marketers use WordPress plugins or widgets for affiliate marketing. The majority (68 percent) do not, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t run WordPress sites.
So what do affiliate marketers who do use WordPress themes, plugins and widgets consider the ‘best in breed’ themes, plugins and widgets for affiliate marketing?
Here are affiliates’ preferences based on AffStat’s 2010 survey of 1,150 affiliate marketers:
WordPress themes preferred by affiliate marketers:
- Affiliate Theme: 26.5 percent of affiliates
- Thesis for WordPress: 26.5 percent
- StudioPress: 14.5 percent
- Woo Themes: 9.6 percent
- Custom built: 8.4 percent
- WPNow: 4.8 percent
- Headway: 3.6 percent
- Elegant Themes: 2.4 percent
- Thematic: 2.4 percent
- Pagelines iBlogPro: 1.2 percent
WordPress plugins and widgets used by affiliate marketers:
- Amazon Reloaded for WordPress: 20.7 percent of affiliates
- ShareASale Make a Widget: 14.1 percent
- LinkShare RSS DealFeed: 10.9 percent
- LinkShare Link Lookup: 9.8 percent
- WP-Marketer: 9.8 percent
- DataFeedFile.com Featured Product: 5.4 percent
- LinkShare AdMix: 5.4 percent
- Simple Link Cloaker: 5.4 percent
- Bounce.cc: 4.3 percent
- WFReview: 4.3 percent
- DataFeedr: 2.2 percent
