Will AOL Instant Messenger Become The Biggest Twitter Client?
By Anna Johnson on July 9th, 2009AOL has released several new AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) clients in beta, along with a new AIM Lifestream site, each of which integrates streams from Facebook and Twitter.
Each of the new AIM betas allow you to access updates from your friends on Facebook and Twitter, along with those on AIM, via a new ‘Lifestream’ tab. You can also share videos and links using your YouTube and Delicious accounts, as well as start private conversations with AIM friends as usual.
With some 50 million active users, the integration of Twitter into AIM may see it become on of the most popular third party tools for accessing the Twitter stream.
