What makes an Internet marketing company a top workplace? Ask automotive online marketing company, Dealer.com. Dealer.com was recently named as one of the 20 ‘Top Small Company Workplaces 2010′ in North America by Inc. magazine and Winning Workplaces.

Inc. magazine’s Top Small Company Workplaces list recognizes small to mid-sized businesses that meet certain measures in creating a workplace that facilitates happy employees and successful business results. To qualify for the list a business must be independent (not part of a larger corporation), have less than $500 million in annual revenues, employ 750 or fewer employees, and have at least three years of business history.

Founded in 1997, Dealer.com has 271 employees and made $51.3 million in revenues in 2009. According to Inc. magazine, the company’s approach to training, in particular, helped it stand out as a top workplace.

Dealer.com uses an online learning system called uFuel which teaches staff skills ranging from software basics to management skills. Dealer.com also provides company leaders with a 52 week Leadership Development Program involving MBA standard courses designed for the company by professors at the Champlain College business school.
