Web Design – How To Learn From Others’ Mistakes

By Anna Johnson on December 3rd, 2009

Bryan Zmijewski has written a great web design deconstruction of the TechCrunch.com home page. One which we can all learn from.

Indeed, as I like to say, the best way to learn is from other people’s mistakes! But also from their successes – TechCrunch has done a pretty good job managing its online real estate and, as you would expect from a leading online blog.

In any case, I thoroughly recommend you read the review and see how your website(s) might stack up under such scrutiny. You can check it out here.

Meanwhile, the Notable App which Bryan used for the deconstruction is a really nifty tool for exchanging ideas and feedback about webpages. I can think of several uses for Notable App apart from deconstructing someone’s website too. Want a new website that looks like a bit like some other site? Use Notable App to tell your design team what you like and dislike about other websites.
