Voters Expect Substantial Political Presence Online
By Anna Johnson on August 29th, 2008In the lead-up to the U.S. Federal election, some timely findings from a survey conducted by PointRoll and E-Voter Institute and analysed by HCD Research: voters expect their political candidates to have a solid Internet presence.
Key findings of the survey were that:
- 87 percent of voters expect candidates to have a website;
- 70 percent expect candidates to use email;two-thirds expect candidates to use the Internet for fund-raising, to post video commercials, and to run online ad campaigns; and
- 50 percent expect candidates to use blogs and podcasts.
