Video Ad Network VideoEgg Bucks Downturn, Doubles Revenues

Whilst online advertising is said to have declined in overall revenues during 2009, video advertising network VideoEgg reports that it more than doubled revenues to $25 million and achieved profitability during the year.

VideoEgg delivers more than one billion ad impressions per month, which reach an estimated 100 million consumers in four different countries. It uses a pay-per-engagement model and offers innovative ad units, including roll-overs, video ads, and iPhone ads.

According to CEO Matt Sanchez, VideoEgg is averaging a greater than 1 percent ad engagement in contrast to the typical 0.1 to 0.3 percent banner ad click-through rate.
