VEVO Tops 5 Most Popular U.S. Entertainment Networks

Based on comScore data, VEVO – the YouTube-powered music video and entertainment service launched in December 2009 by Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment and Abu Dhabi Media Company – was the most visited U.S. web network in the entertainment-music category in December 2009, with 35,395,000 unique visitors.

VEVO’s number one ranking is impressive, given the service was only launched on December 8, 2009. The service’s unique visitor count does, however, include traffic to the VEVO.com website, YouTube, and the VEVO-branded embedded player which can be deployed on other websites.

According to comScore, the top 5 U.S. entertainment-music networks in December 2009 were:

  1. VEVO
  2. MySpace Music
  3. AOL Music
  4. Warner Music
  5. MTV Networks Music
