Vertical Ad Networks Are More Effective

By Anna Johnson on June 12th, 2009

Vertical advertising networks are targeted, topic or niche based ad networks which offer online marketers the ability to target their ads to a specific audience.

According to eMarketer, they also offer Internet marketers a more valuable proposition than advertising on general, broad based ad networks.

Based on comScore data, unique visitors to vertical ad networks increased by 172 percent from March 2008 to March 2009. In turn, vertical network websites were seen by 57.1 percent of the total U.S. Internet audience in March, an increase of 166 percent from the 21.5 percent at the same time last years.

This just makes sense. If you have a particular offer that would appeal to a group of people with certain interests, why wouldn’t you promote that offer where these people gather?
