Venture Capital Firm Hunting For Startups on Facebook
By Anna Johnson on December 30th, 2008TechCrunch has spied venture capital firm, Charles River Ventures, advertising on Facebook. The venture capital firm is encouraging ‘hot startups’ to contact Charles River Ventures about a potential investment.
According to TechCrunch’s Michael Arrington, Charles River Ventures is most likely looking for candidates for its ‘Quick Start’ program.
The Quick Start program involves Charles River Ventures lending seed funding of up to $250,000 to help entrepreneurs build out their ideas and explore their potential before raising equity financing.
The venture capital firm is specifically interested in investing in companies in the communications and technology, software and services, and new media sectors.
It’s refreshing to see at least one venture capital fund bucking the ‘doom and gloom’ trend among venture capital firms and actively seeking funding opportunities.
And although Charles River Ventures is advertising on Facebook, methinks they’d welcome interest from any up and coming startups that fit their criteria for investment…
