U.S. Social Network Advertising To Drop in 2009
By Anna Johnson on July 20th, 2009Internet marketing research firm, eMarketer, forecasts paid advertising on U.S. online social networks to fall by 3 percent in 2009.
eMarketer expects, however, that social network advertising will rebound sharply in 2010, when it will increase by 13.2 percent to reach $1.3 billion.
According to Debra Aho Williamson, eMarketer senior analyst and author of the new report, ‘Social Network Ad Spending: A Brighter Outlook Next Year’ the rebound “is a clear indication that the experimental phase of social network marketing is finally drawing to an end.”
