U.S. Online Video Usage Soars in December
By Anna Johnson on February 6th, 2009Research by comScore shows that Americans watched 14.3 billion online videos in December, 2008. This represents an increase of 13 percent versus the previous month.
YouTube accounted for 49 percent of the incremental gain in videos watched and continues to dominate online video. It’s the main source of video content run by Google, which accounted for 99 percent of all videos viewed in December.
Other popular online video sites include Fox Interactive Media, which accounted for 3.1 percent of all videos viewed in December, followed by Yahoo! sites (2.3 percent) and Viacom Digital (2.0 percent).
