U.S. Online Advertising To reach $28.5 Billion in 2011
By Anna Johnson on December 9th, 2010Internet marketing research firm eMarketer expects U.S. online advertising to grow from $25.8 billion in 2010 to $28.5 billion in 2011 – a rise of 10.5 percent. eMarketer forecasts online ad spending to grow at similar rates thereafter, reaching $40.5 billion in 2014.
During the next few years, eMarketer expects online advertising to grow much more than total media advertising, which the firm expects to be $168.5 billion in 2010 and increase by just 1.2 to reach $170.5 billion percent in 2011, and $188.5 billion in 2014.
Out of the various online advertising formats, eMarketer says online video advertising will be the fastest-growing format over the next few years, while paid search will attract the most money.
