U.S. Internet Retail Sales Up By 9 Percent

U.S. Internet retail sales were $32.1 billion in the third quarter of 2010, 9 percent higher than sales in the third quarter of 2009.

According to data from comScore, Inc. the growth in online retail spending continues an upward trend over the last four quarters.

The most popular online product categories were Books & Magazines (excluding digital downloads), Computers/Peripherals/PDAs, Computer Software (excl. PC Games) and Consumer Electronics, largely reflecting consumers’ desire to spend money on in-home entertainment.
