Twitter Users Embrace Twitter For Product Research
By Anna Johnson on May 13th, 2010Edison Research’s report, Twitter Usage In America: 2010, reveals that Twitter users make substantial use Twitter for product research:
- 42 percent use Twitter to learn about products/services;
- 41 percent user Twitter to provide opinions about products and services;
- 31 percent use Twitter to ask for opinions about products and services;
- 28 percent use Twitter to look for discounts or sales;
- 21 percent use Twitter to purchase products/services; and
- 19 percent use Twitter to seek customer support.
Twitter users also tend to follow/friend brands and companies on social networks, with 51 percent of Twitter users doing so compared with just 16 percent of all social network users.
