Twitter More Important To Brands Than LinkedIn

By Anna Johnson on June 1st, 2009

ReadWriteWeb reports that, based on a month-long poll on business social network LinkedIn, most LinkedIn users regard Twitter as more important for brands to master than LinkedIn.

As at the time of ReadWriteWeb’s article, 3,615 respondents had participated in the poll. They were asked: “What is the most important new platform for brands to master?” Options were Twitter, Facebook, the iPhone, Digg and LinkedIn.

Here’s the breakdown of how those surveyed responded:

  1. Twitter: 30 percent
  2. Facebook: 26 percent
  3. LinkedIn: 22 percent
  4. iPhone: 18 percent
  5. Digg: 1 percent

I was inspired by this poll to start a similar one in the Warrior Forum. I don’t expect to gather as many, or necessarily as representative, results as the LinkedIn poll, but I thought it would be interesting anyway. If you want to participate, here’s the question and associated poll:

“What is the most important new platform for Internet marketers to master?”
