By Anna Johnson on February 9th, 2009

Faculty Lounge has bid $1.25 million for the Toys.com domain name, in an auction organized to sell of the assets of bankrupt company, The Parent Company.

The Parent Company filed for bankruptcy in December 2008 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court District of Delaware. An auction in the law offices of Pachulski Stang Ziehl & Jones LLP has seen most assets sold, subject to creditors’ approval.

In addition to the sale of the Toys.com domain, other web properties sold were: ePregnancy.com and other eToys assets, sold for $2.15 million (these were businesses not just domain names), Birthdays.com, Pinata.com and eParties.com, sold for $200,000 to Done Ventures, and Hobbies.com and iToys.com, sold for $102,000 to Domain Equity.
