Top Converting Retail Sites – May 2009
By Anna Johnson on July 7th, 2009Here are the top 10 converting websites for May 2009 according to Nielson Online.
The conversion rates are based on dividing the number of unique customers by the number of unique visitors i.e. they’re not ’session conversion rates’ which are based on sales divided by total user sessions.
You’ll notice that, by information product standards, these conversion rates are quite high. That’s to be expected – visitors to retail sites are generally in the buying cycle, whereas most visitors to information product websites are looking for free information and may, or may not, subsequently decide to buy something.
Here are the top ten, along with their conversion rates:
- ProFlowers: 38.6 percent
- Office Depot: 28.0 percent
- Online Retail Total: 25.6 percent
- Vitacost.com: 25.0 percent
- Quixtar: 23.4 percent
- Blair: 23.4 percent
- Roamans: 22.6 percent
- 1800Flowers: 20.5 percent
- Woman Within: 19.6 percent
- Spiegel: 18.20 percent
