The Most Popular U.S. Brands Online

Nielsen Online has released its list of the top 25 U.S. brands online for June.

The 5 most popular parent companies/divisions accessed at home and work were as follows, based on the number of unique visitors and average length of visit per user on each site:

  1. Google – 128,029,000 unique visitors; 1:50:16 hr:min:sec.
  2. Microsoft – 123,021,000 unique visitors; 2:12:38 hr:min:sec.
  3. Yahoo – 113,439,000 unique visitors; 3:07:47 hr:min:sec.
  4. Time Warner (division) – 99,494,000 unique visitors; 3:23:24 hr:min:sec.
  5. News Corp. Online – 80,606,000 unique visitors; 1:55:40 hr:min:sec.

Nielsen also tracked the “stickiest” brands on the web i.e. the most popular sites that people tended to stay on the longest. Its top 5 were:

  1. PokerStars.com – 958,000 unique visitors; 10:37:41 hr:min:sec
  2. Plentyoffish Media* – 1,131,000 unique visitors; 8:39:36 hr:min:sec
  3. Electronic Arts Online – 11,489,000 unique visitors; 8:37:56 hr:min:sec
  4. SingleClick Systems* – 643,000 unique visitors; 7:46:14 hr:min:sec
  5. FullTiltPoker.com* – 1,429,000 unique visitors; 7:19:47 hr:min:sec
