Text Messaging Most Popular Mobile Phone Activity
By Anna Johnson on November 10th, 2010The most popular mobile phone activity is text messaging, with 67 percent of U.S. mobile subscribers texting on their mobile devices, 1.4 percent more than in the previous three month period.
Based on comScore, Inc. data, other popular mobile phone activities during Q3 2010 were browsing the Internet (performed by 35.1 percent of mobile subscribers, up by 2.2 percent over Q2), downloading apps (performed by 33.1 percent of mobile users, up by 2.5 percent), and accessing social networking sites or blogs (23.2 percent, up by 1.8 percent).
U.S mobile phone subscribers also used their mobile devices to play games (23.1 percent of the mobile audience, up by 0.5 percent) and listening to music (15.2 percent, up by 0.8 percent).

I can believe that. Even my mother who can barely turn on the DVD player has learned how to text me. It’s way more accessible to people now.
