TechCrunch Celebrates 4th Birthday

Last week on Thursday, June 11, 2005, leading online technology and business blog, TechCrunch, celebrated its fourth birthday.

Marking the milestone with a short blog post, TechCrunch’s founder Michael Arrington revealed some interesting statistics about TechCrunch.

  • TechCrunch gets 5.5 million unique visitors each month. Impressive!
  • Michael Arrington’s post was the 12,896th post on TechCrunch. Given that a lot of posts have been published since then, there are probably around 13,000 TechCrunch posts now, with more across TechCrunch’s entire blog network.
  • Readers had left 607,031 comments on the blog (about 20 million spam comments have been deleted).
  • Based on these figures, TechCrunch averages nearly 50 comments per post.
