Super Chirp Lets You Charge For Your Twitter Stream
By Anna Johnson on June 12th, 200983 Degrees has launched a new service called Super Chirp that allows Twitter users to charge for their Twitter streams. So, if you have a high value stream, you can use Super Chirp to charge people to receive that content.
The model makes sense. As TechCrunch points out, it’s a no-brainer for celebrities. Stock tipsters too. And probably other information marketers: ‘For just a few dollars I’ll give you a stream of my very best secrets, techniques and links to other content.’ After all, you’re not just confined to 140 characters – you can also link to more in-depth content hosted elsewhere.
Then again, is this really anything more than a twist on a paid email newsletter or private forum? I guess the value lies in harnessing Twitter.
Super Chirp uses Twitter’s private message system so you don’t need to create a new Twitter account to offer a paid content stream. Just let people subscribe to your paid stream via the Super Chirp site, and then send direct messages to them. Users can also visit Super Chirp to view such messages.
