Social Networking Apps Used By Nearly 70 Million Mobile Phone Users
By Anna Johnson on June 10th, 2010In April 2010, 69.6 million mobile users accessed an application on their phone, an increase of 28 percent from the previous year.
According to data from comScore, Inc’s MobiLens service, mobile phone users flocked to several application categories which all experienced triple-digit growth in the past year.
In particular 14.5 million users accessed social networking apps (240 percent more users than in 2009), 9.3 million users accessed news apps (124 percent more than in 2009), 7.7 million users accessed sports information apps (113 percent more) and 5 million users embraced bank account applications (more than double the number last year).
