Social Media Users Spend More Online

Based on its ‘State of the U.S. Online Retail Economy in Q1 2010′ research, comScore finds that heavy Facebook and Twitter users tend to spend more money online than other Internet users.
Indeed, in breaking down social media users into heavy, medium, light and non-users, comScore finds that heavy Facebook users (the top 20 percent of users by time spent on the site) spend an average of $67 per month, compared with $27 for non-Facebook users.
Facebook users in general spend an average of $59 per month. The average Twitter user spends even more – $70 per month compared with $43 for the average non-Twitter user.
