RankSpeed Launches ‘Sentiment’ Search Tool For Tweets and Blogs
By Anna Johnson on September 16th, 2009Want to know the general sentiment about a particular product, service, blog, website, or something else? RankSpeed reckons it can tell you.
Type in something like ‘laptop’ or ‘conference’, choose the sentiment (good, bad, fun, popular, etc you want to check) and up will come a list of websites ranked according to that sentiment.
RankSpeed’s sentiment index is based on analyzing the words (good, bad, fun, etc) used by bloggers and Tweeters in relation to the given product, service, etc.
So… if, for example, you search on ‘conference’ and choose ‘good’ as the sentiment you want to check, the results are based on how many people used the word ‘good’ in their blog or Twitter based comments in relation to various conferences.
Right now, RankSpeed’s index is based on tracking 3 million websites. It’s not fool-proof – it doesn’t take into account sarcasm, for example, but worth having a look at. Check it out here: RankSpeed
