Quiz: Is Internet Marketing Right For You?
By Anna Johnson on May 19th, 2010Is Internet marketing right for you? Here’s an ultra-quick quiz to see if you’re cut out for starting and building an online business.
If you answer ‘yes’ to all or most of the following statements, you’re in the right business. With the proviso, of course, that ‘Internet marketing’ covers the gamut from running a search engine optimization (SEO) consultancy, to providing a software-as-service, to running an online store, to being an affiliate marketer!
If you answer ‘yes’ to about half of the statements, you may need to approach Internet marketing with caution. By all means give it a go, but don’t give up your day job just yet. While you could grow to love Internet marketing if you find the right niche and business model, you may also find that it doesn’t really suit you after all.
And if most of your responses are ‘no’, you should probably steer clear of Internet marketing altogether…
Internet marketing is right for you if:
- You love business.
- You love marketing.
- You love the Internet.
- You’re always looking to learn new things.
- You’re highly resourceful.
- You’re open to lots of ideas, but can and do focus when necessary.
- You enjoy working alone.
- You can handle tedium.
- You favor researching a market to find out what it wants, rather than building a solution to a problem you don’t know if anyone has.
- Once you have the data you need, you take action.
- You don’t assume you know the answer; you test and track to find out what the market says.
- You like to innovate, but only if you’re providing a unique and better solution to a problem shared by your prospects and customers.
- You have high quality standards, but favor speed over perfection.
- You’re willing to invest time, money and whatever it takes to be successful.
- You delegate and outsource tasks so you’re free to make the most lucrative use of your time.
