Qitera Lets You Search Your Bookmarks
By Anna Johnson on January 31st, 2009Have you bookmarked a whole bunch of web pages and then, one day, when you just know you bookmarked a page on a specific topic… struggled to find it again?
Or have you found yourself wasting time searching Google or Yahoo for something you have already bookmarked… somewhere…?
Qitera aims to help you avoid these kinds of problems.
Qitera is a social bookmarking service with a difference. With the latest version of its Firefox plugin, you can generate search results from your Qitera bookmarks whenever you search on Google or Yahoo.
Qitera will also generate results from both public websites and private or paid-membership sites.
Basically, Qitera automatically saves a searchable copy of every page you bookmark. And now, with its integration with Google and Yahoo, you don’t have to go to the Qitera site to search your bookmarks. Just use the plugin instead.
Announcing the new plugin in Qitera’s blog, Joerg Lamprecht said that the solution is really designed to save people time.
Since we often search for the same things again and again, it just makes sense to first review search results from pages we’ve already bookmarked, before reviewing other results.
Of course, to benefit from this solution, you’ll have to use Qitera’s bookmarking service (funny about that), but, if it helps, you can import your Delicious bookmarks into Qitera.

Thanks for the post – glad you like it.
Another nice feature of Qitera’s ocial search service is that it’s based on trusted circles, no public content – no spam on your topics.
