Performance Marketing Alliance To Fight Anti-Affiliate Bill

By Anna Johnson on March 25th, 2009

‘If you are a publisher or agency whose business is in California, your livelihood is at risk.’

So says the Performance Marketing Alliance (PMA) which is leading a grass-roots campaign to fight California Assembly Bill 178.

The proposed bill, similar to a law introduced in the state of New York, aims to impose taxes on merchants whose affiliates sell products and services to residents of California.

The PMA is working with the California Chamber of Commerce and the California Taxpayers Association to fight the bill, and is inviting anyone interested to assist with the campaign.

Apparently, ‘D-day’ is only days away, with March 31, 2009 being the last day for the PMA to have its say.
