Online Vouchers Generate Long-Term Customers
By Anna Johnson on December 15th, 2009According to VoucherSeeker, businesses that offer voucher codes and discount vouchers through sites such as its own are particularly attractive to customers seeking ‘value’ during the holiday shopping season.
Ed Wilkinson, VoucherSeeker Director, says:
“Value really is what consumers want. They have a very specific idea of what value for money is and what does not count as value for money.”
As cited by VoucherSeeker, research by Hitwise shows that the number of people searching for the term ‘vouchers’ has increased by 40 percent, while a recent Razorfish survey found that 44 percent of consumers actively engage with brands on social networking sites such as Twitter in order to get vouchers and discounts.
Razorfish’s research also indicates that companies providing a positive brand experience online via websites and promotional codes tend to get new customers and drive sales. Razorfish found that 65 percent of the 1,000 consumers it surveyed said they made their first purchase from a new brand due to a positive experience with a microsite, voucher or email.
