eMarketer reports that, according to ABI Research, the number of online video viewers worldwide will increase by 67 percent to reach 941 million in 2013, up from 563 million in 2008.

If correct, that means just over one-half of the 1.8 billion consumers expected to use the Internet in 2013 will also watch online video.

Viewing, will, however, vary from country to country. Research by IBM Global Ventures indicates that over 75 percent of Internet users in Australia, Germany, India, Japan, the U.K. and the U.S. already watch video on their computers – significantly more than the  proportion of worldwide users who watch online video.
