Online Advertising Rebounds Slightly in Q3 2009
By Anna Johnson on December 1st, 2009Data from the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) shows that Internet advertising revenues reached almost $5.5 billion in the third quarter of 2009, representing an increase of 1.7 percent over the Q2 2009 online advertising spend.
While online advertising is still down 5.4 percent compared with the third quarter of 2008, the increase over the second quarter shows promise of a recovery in Internet advertising spending.
The IAB Internet Advertising Revenue Report details these findings, which are based on PricewaterhouseCoopers’ compilation of data from information supplied by companies selling advertising on the Internet, including website publishers, commercial online services, free email providers, and other Internet media providers.
