NewsCred Ranks News On Credibility

By Anna Johnson on August 22nd, 2008

We don’t need another news aggregator… or do we?

Introducing NewsCred - a news aggregator that ranks stories based on the credibility of their source. Rather than have stories ranked according to story popularity, NewsCred users can vote on the story, author, and the credibility of the publication. Such votes are are all fed into an algorithm used to determine where the story appears in the site’s news headlines.

Question is: how credible are the measures of credibility, let alone the algorithm?
