Need Funding? TechStars Invites You To Apply…

By Anna Johnson on January 21st, 2009

TechStars, an incubator which offers mentoring and seed funding to tech startups, is now inviting applications for its 2009 program.

Interested companies can submit their applications on the TechStars application page any time between January 19 and March 21, 2009.

TechStars aims to select around 10 companies to participate in its mentorship program, and will announce the winners by March 28.

Those selected to participate in the program – which takes place in Boulder, Colorado – will receive mentoring and a small amount of seed funding. At the end of the program they’ll be able to pitch their business concepts to potential investors during a couple of Demo Days in Boulder and Mountain View, California.

According to TechCrunch, TechStars has a pretty good track record when it comes to helping startups get venture capital or become acquired.

In 2008, several of the TechStars participants raised capital and/or were acquired. This includes SocialThing, which was acquired by AOL, and Intense Debate, which was bought by Automattic (the company behind the Wordpress blogging platform).
