Most Affiliate Marketers Prefer Network Affiliate Programs
By Anna Johnson on July 19th, 2010According to a 2010 survey of 1,150 affiliate marketers by AffStat, most affiliate marketers (47.4 percent) prefer network affiliate programs, but affiliate marketers vary widely in terms of how many products they promote.
AffStat finds that while 47.4 percent of affiliate marketers prefer network affiliate programs, 14 percent prefer independent programs and 38.6 percent have no preference.
Perhaps because it depends so much on what kinds of product categories and products affiliate marketers promote, there is wide variation in how many affiliate programs affiliate marketers promote:
- 1 affiliate program: 10.9 percent of affiliates
- 2-5 affiliate programs: 26.6 percent
- 6-10 affiliate programs: 20.1 percent
- 11-20 affiliate programs: 10.0 percent
- 21-30 affiliate programs: 9.6 percent
- 31-40 affiliate programs: 0.9 percent
- 41-50 affiliate programs: 0.9 percent
- 51+ affiliate programs: 21.0 percent
