More U.S. Adults Spend Time Online
By Anna Johnson on January 20th, 2009People are using the Internet more and more in the U.S. and eMarketer reckons the recession may cause an even greater increase in how much time people spend online.
Since 2001, U.S. adults have increased their average at-home Internet use from 3.3 hours per week in 2001 to 15.3 hours per week in 2007.
Research by the U.S.C. Annenberg School Center for the Digital Future shows that at-home Internet use by U.S. adults grew slowly between 2001 and 2006 – when it reached 8.9 hours – but increased dramatically in 2007.
eMarketer believes Americans will spend even more time online, as they use the Internet to look for employment and undertake additional training, as well as engage in leisure activities.
And hey, to start and run an online business, right?
