Microsoft, Google Top List of 20 Most Valuable Brands Online

Based on its Media Value Report for the fourth quarter of 2009, Microsoft and Google were the top two brands, together generating about $1.3 billion in advertising value from news providers and social media.
Other notable brands in the top 20 were Citigroup, McDonald’s, Disney, American Express, and Ford. According to General Sentiment, together these five companies were mentioned enough to earn the equivalent of more than $1.2 billion in paid advertising.
