Internet Users Spend More Time on Social Media Sites, But Email More Often
By Anna Johnson on November 11th, 2010According to the September 2010 TNS ‘Digital Life’ worldwide survey, Internet users spend more time on social media sites (4.6 hours per week) than reading and writing emails (4.4 hours per week).
The TNS survey also reveals, however, that Internet users use email more often than any other Internet application.
They are more likely to engage with email (send and receive messages) on a daily basis than in any other online activity. Nearly three quarters of Internet users check their email every day, whilst less than half visit social media sites each day.
