Internet Gambling Biz Co-Founder Pleads Guilty
By Anna Johnson on December 18th, 2008Anurag Dikshit (yes, that’s really his name), a co-founder of an Internet gambling company, has pleaded guilty to a U.S. federal wire crime and agreed to forfeit $300 million.
Mr Dikshit, of India, was the co-founder of PartyGaming, an online gambling company registered in the United Kingdom. He pleaded guilty to violating the U.S. federal wire act.
The charge carries a possible prison term of up to two years, but since Dikshit (very unfortunate name) signed a cooperation agreement, the prosecutors said they might seek leniency from the judge.
