How To Get on TechCrunch
By Anna Johnson on August 11th, 2010TechCrunch is arguably the leading blog focused on Internet technologies and technology companies. For that reason, many Internet startups dream of getting their company and/or technology profiled – or at least mentioned – in TechCrunch. Here, according to TechCrunch’s Alexia Tsotsis, is THE key for getting on TechCrunch:
“Be interesting.”
There you go. That’s not so hard, is it? Just be interesting!
Then again, how many of us think that what we’re doing – or saying about what we’re doing – is interesting… when it’s really only interesting to us?
Perhaps it would be a good idea to check out Alexia Tsotsis’ article for an insight into the difference between ‘interesting’ and ‘ho hum’.
Here’s a hint: a copy and paste press release is NOT interesting; being hopped up on caffeine, malnourished and in need of a shower may well be interesting. (On the other hand, if TechCrunch gets inundated with emails from heavily caffeinated, malnourished and hygiene-challenged startups… those qualities probably won’t be so interesting anymore…)
