Google/YouTube Has 85 Percent Share of U.S. Online Video

comScore Video Metrix shows that 172 million U.S. Internet users watched online video content in November 2010. The most popular online video properties were as follows:

  1. Google Sites (mainly YouTube.com): 145.8 million unique viewers (85 percent of the total)
  2. Yahoo! Sites: 61.8 million viewers (36 percent share)
  3. VEVO: 50.3 million viewers (29 percent)
  4. AOL, Inc. (which acquired 5min in September): 47.7 million viewers (28 percent)
  5. Viacom Digital: 47.3 million viewers (28 percent)
