Google Dominates Search, Bing Nibbles at Yahoo, Ask and AOL
By Anna Johnson on January 18th, 2010comScore’s analysis of the U.S. search marketplace in December 2009, reveals that Google maintained its search engine market dominance with a 65.7 percent search market share, essentially the same as its 65.6 percent in November.
Bing edged up 0.4 percentage points to seize a 10.7 percent market share, while Yahoo fell back by 0.2 percentage points to a 17.3 percent market share.
Rounding out the top five players in U.S. search were Ask Network with 3.7 percent of the search market (down 0.1 percent), followed by AOL LLC Network with 2.6 percent (down 0.2 percent).
