Google Buys Kikabink For $10 Million
By Anna Johnson on April 1st, 2009Google, it seems, is still on the outlook for promising Internet businesses and announced this morning that it had acquired up-and-coming Internet marketing company, Kikabink International Pty Ltd.
Kikabink, based in Melbourne, Australia, is involved in Internet marketing activities ranging from managing a domain name portfolio and developing a domain investment platform, to operating several niche websites.
It’s flagship website, located at Kikabink.com, provides Internet marketing services, tools, news and is developing some exciting features for Internet marketers yet to be revealed.
Announcing the acquisition, Google chief executive officer, Eric Schmidt, said that Google was eager to own the Internet marketing niche and saw its acquisition of Kikabink as a strategic move in that direction. Rumor has it that Google is considering some even higher profile properties including the famous Warrior Forum.
Schmidt said the main reason for the acquisition, though, was because Kikabink had a funny name, just like Google.
Kikabink co-founders Anna and Simon Johnson will continue running and growing Kikabink from their Melbourne base following the acquisition. Happy April Fool’s Day.

Buying Kikanbink ? OK, great for you as 10 Mio. would fit nicely in your pocket.
But buying the Warrior Forum ?!!! What a horror scenario.
Would quit IM if that’s the case.
