FairShare – Another Tool To Track Use of Your Blogs

By Anna Johnson on February 12th, 2009

Here’s another service that aims to track online use of your content. FairShare, which has just launched in private beta, aims to help bloggers track the use of their content across the Internet.

FairShare is free and allows you to specify what kind of Creative Commons distribution license you’ve assigned to your content. The tool will then search through its index of web sites to see where and how your content has been used.

As TechCrunch points out, there are three main ways you might use FairShare: to see who is unlawfully using your content; to build relationships with those who are appropriately using your content; and to use it as an intelligence tool to help you better tailor your content based on who tends to use and read it.
