Facebook To Give Members Vanity URLs
By Anna Johnson on June 1st, 2009Facebook plans to give members ‘vanity’ URLs i.e. where a member’s Facebook URL can include their name e.g. ‘facebook.com/johnsmith’
Facebook members will be able to apply for the URL of their choice but certain words will not be allowed, including terms subject to trade mark, and generic terms.
The plan isn’t official yet, but according to TechCrunch, Facebook will announce the move later this week.
