Facebook To Exceed $500M in Revenues in 2009

Facebook board member and Netscape-co-founder-turned-venture capitalist, Marc Andreessen, reckons Facebook will make over $500 million in revenues in 2009. Andreessen also expects the company to be making billions in revenue in 5 years time.

According to Silicon Alley Insider, Marc Andreessen’s view supports rumors that Facebook would make over $550 million in 2009. The Silicon Alley Insider expects Facebook’s 2009 revenues to break-down as follows:

  • $125 million from brand ads
  • $150 million from Facebook’s ad deal with Microsoft
  • $75 million from virtual goods
  • $200 million from self-service ads
