Facebook Surpasses 515 million users, 1 in 3 Americans Has a Facebook Account
By Anna Johnson on September 6th, 2010As at September 5, 2010 Facebook had 515,615,540 users according to Checkfacebook.com. Just over half Facebook’s members are female (55.6 percent) while the rest are male (44.4 percent).
The biggest users of Facebook by age group are those aged 18-24 years (24.6 percent), followed by people aged 25-34 years (24.5 percent), and people aged 35-44 years (17.2 percent).
Created by Nick Gonzalez, CheckFacebook reports marketing statistics based on data gathered from Facebook’s advertising tool. The site also lists the countries with the most Facebook users and the past week’s fastest-growing countries in terms of Facebook membership.
As you might imagine, the United States ranks as the country with the most Facebook members. With an estimated 133.9 million Americans using Facebook – and a U.S. population of 310 million according to the U.S. Census Bureau – that means well over a third (and approaching half) of all Americans have a Facebook account.

Well, i am not so sure that Facebook has so many users. I believe that there some cities where there are three more Facebook users than people in those cities.
