eBay Expects PayPal Revenues to Double
By Anna Johnson on March 16th, 2009During its analyst day last week, eBay told financial analysts that it expected PayPal revenues to double by 2011 to be roughly $4-5 billion in sales.
Last year, PayPal achieved sales of $2.4 billion and made up about 30 percent of eBay’s total $8.5 billion in sales.
eBay also expects Skype to be a $1 billion business in 2011. Skype made $551 million in sales during 2008.
eBay’s chief executive, John Donahoe, is not so optimistic about eBay’s auction business, which is expected to grow more slowly in the next year or so.
