Does Your Content Have a Purpose?
By Anna Johnson on November 19th, 2009When it comes to creating content – articles, blog posts, tweets, videos, images, ads, sales letters – accomplished Internet marketer Lynn Terry makes a great point:
“Content should have a purpose, not be your purpose.”
– paraphrase of Lynn Terry’s comment in the November 5, 2009 edition of the Internet Marketing This Week podcast.
I would add: the purpose of your content should be, in some way, to enhance the life of the person consuming that content. Otherwise it’s just noise.

I totally agree! Some marketers tend to forget that articles are made to help consumers find the solutions to their problems. Plus, it is a good way to prove that what you’re selling is not bogus, so it is really important to have good and helpful content.
