Deal-a-Day Sites Booming, Revenues To Reach $3.9 Billion By 2015
By Anna Johnson on March 21st, 2011Research firm BIA/Kelsey forecasts U.S. spending on ‘deal-a-day’ websites to reach $3.9 billion by 2015, up from $873 million in 2010.
BIA/Kelsey concedes that $3.9 billion could be conservative or optimistic, depending on how the industry develops.
Taking into account such factors as the growing number of websites and cities participating in deal-a-day offers, along with growth in users, transactions per user and average transaction size, the number could be as much as $6.1 billion or a more moderate $2.1 billion.
